Interactional Metadiscourse in Students’ Abstracts across Studies at Universitas Qomaruddin

Writing is one of the essential things that all students must do. In writing, delivery ideas needs to be arranged so writing easy understand and practical. One type when write a research article for their final project or thesis. Abstract crucial sections thesis because abstract contains an outline they did. abstracts, metadiscourse markers were possible aimed organize sequence ideas, attract readers' attention, indicate how important information was presented. This study investigated hundred twenty theses from six programs at Universitas Qomaruddin. They are English Department (PBI), Mathematic (PMT), Industrial Engineering (TI), Electrical (TE), Mechanical (MS), Informatics (IF). Hyland (2005) formulated interactional as primary reference. The results showed applied abstracts.
